Our only official domain names for connecting to our IRC network are:
The specific hostnames could be things such as irc.abjects.net, irc.eu.abjects.com, etc. But, they will always use one of the three top level domain names above. If anyone tries to tell you different, it's just another of the same guy's sorry attempts to impersonate the great.
So, welcome to the one and only, Welcome to Abjects...
All users are welcome to join us at Abjects IRC Network, and channel registration is open. We ask only that you respect our acceptable use policy, and behave respectfully in our network channels, and towards our hard working staff and other users.
Abjects was created from the fusion of Criten Irc Network, FreshIrc, Untouchables and others who have merged with us over time..
Our network runs entirely on open-source powered servers using linux, and freebsd operating systems. Proprietary operating systems do nothing but dramatically inflate the cost of operations of any type of organization, and in most cases greatly reduces security. So be it penguins. or be it deamons, we are better off without Billy-bob.
We have various official network channels for different uses. These would include:
#abjects - our main network chat channel #help - the name says it all, our help channel #vhost - for botserv and vhost requests #routing - for questions/help regarding linking a server to abjects
Once you are connected to the Abjects IRC Network you should at least be aware of the risk you might be in, like on any other network.
All Abjects Staff are responsible for the network security and provide a clean and safe environment for the network's users. They try to keep away spammers or even flood bots, provide stable and reliable servers for the network and most of all, protect all users' information by keeping it secure. Access to all users' information is restricted - only abjects Staff such as Services Administrators/Operators are granted access.
On your side, you should NOT click on any site/link that's being spammed on a network channel or in private message and NOT accept DCC's from ANYONE you don't know, because there is most likely a virus hidden. In case of channel flood, its better to moderate it by using the +m mode and report the flood to an oper.
We accept NO responsibility to what ever may happen to you or your computer while connecting to this Network. We reserve the right to remove you from our servers without a previous warning or notice and for any reason we see fit in order to protect the network.
IRC is a privilege, NOT a Right!
